- Download the code and put it on the counter, receipts, invoices, table tents or thank-you cards. Scan it once to check that the review form opens.
How to find your review link or Place ID
Option 1 – review link from your Business Profile (for owners and managers):
- Sign in to the Google account that manages the business.
- Search for your business name on Google or open it in Google Maps – your Business Profile tools appear.
- Click Ask for reviews (also shown as Get more reviews).
- Copy the link – it looks like
https://g.page/r/…/review– and paste it here.
Option 2 – Place ID (works for any business):
- Open Google's Place ID page and scroll to the Place ID Finder map.
- Type the business name into the search box and choose it from the suggestions.
- Copy the Place ID shown on the map – it usually starts with
ChIJ– and paste it here.
From a Place ID, the generator builds the official review link https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…. You can also paste such a link directly.
Tips for getting more reviews
- Ask at the right moment: right after a good experience – at checkout, on delivery or after a completed job.
- Make it visible: where customers wait or pay, on receipts and invoices, and in follow-up emails.
- Add a short request next to the code, e.g. “Enjoyed your visit? Tell others on Google.”
- Follow Google's rules: do not offer discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, and do not invite only customers you expect to be happy – Google's policies forbid both.
- Reply to reviews: answers to praise and criticism show future customers that you listen.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Google Place ID?
A unique identifier of a place in Google Maps, such as ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4. The review link for your business is built from it.
Do customers need a Google account?
Yes. To post a review, customers have to be signed in to Google; the review form asks them to sign in if necessary.
Can I make a review QR code for someone else's business?
Technically yes, for any place listed on Google Maps – for example as a service for a client. Reviews themselves must always come from real customers.
Does the QR code expire?
No. It is a static code and works as long as the business listing exists on Google.
